Kaduna Lawmaker Confirms Abduction of 15 Farmers by Bandits

The lawmaker representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Daniel Amos, has confirmed that 15 peasant farmers were abducted by bandits in Ungwan Nungu, Bokana Ward, Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

In a statement issued on Tuesday in Kaduna, Amos condemned the attack, describing it as “cruel, senseless, and deeply regrettable.” The incident, which occurred on Saturday, November 29, 2025, has caused widespread fear in the community, with families anxiously awaiting news of their loved ones.

Amos highlighted that the abduction reflects the growing insecurity in rural areas. “Our people deserve to live without fear. The targeting of peaceful, hardworking residents is unacceptable and must not continue,” he said.

He urged residents of Ungwan Nungu and surrounding communities to remain calm and avoid actions that could escalate the situation. Amos called for heightened vigilance and cooperation with security agencies, emphasizing the need for a coordinated operation to secure the victims’ release.

“I urge security agencies to leave no stone unturned in the search for the abducted persons. We expect enhanced surveillance, intelligence-led operations, and the swift arrest and prosecution of those responsible,” he added.

Expressing solidarity with affected families, Amos assured that efforts were ongoing to ensure the safe return of the farmers. “We share in the pain of the families and will continue to push for every necessary step until the victims are safely reunited with their loved ones,” he said.

The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to the safety and well-being of his constituents, insisting that communities must remain hopeful despite mounting security challenges.
