Edo Assembly Summons Member Natasha Irobosa Over Viral Video of Husband 2Face’s Alleged Police Arrest in London

The Edo State House of Assembly has summoned Natasha Irobosa, the lawmaker representing Egor Constituency, to appear before its Standing Committee on Ethics and Privileges following the circulation of multiple viral videos involving her and her husband, Nigerian music star Innocent “2Baba” Idibia.

According to Assembly sources cited by Channels TV, the summons is to allow Irobosa “defend herself in respect of a case of misconduct leveled against her,” especially as lawmakers believe the videos portray her in a “negative light.”

Viral Videos Trigger Legislative Concern

Irobosa has been trending on social media after two videos emerged online:

  • one allegedly showing 2Face being approached and handcuffed by police officers in London, and
  • another showing a woman believed to be Irobosa in a heated argument with the singer inside a shop.

SaharaReporters earlier published the arrest video, which appeared to show UK officers questioning the musician outside a retail store before escorting him away in handcuffs. Hours before that, a separate clip surfaced of Irobosa raising her voice at 2Baba, accusing him of shouting at her repeatedly.

Details surrounding both incidents remain unclear, and UK authorities have not issued any confirmation of an arrest.

However, the wide circulation of the videos has prompted the Edo Assembly to intervene, citing concerns about the public conduct of a sitting legislator.

Committee to Investigate Conduct

The Standing Committee on Ethics and Privileges has been directed to interface with Irobosa and investigate the circumstances surrounding the viral footage.

She is expected to appear before the committee within one week, while the panel must present its report to the House within two weeks.

The Assembly emphasized that the inquiry is part of its constitutional mandate to protect the integrity and public image of the legislature.

Previous Reports of Alleged UK Incident

This is not the first time the lawmaker and her husband have attracted media attention.
In October, reports circulated that 2Baba had been arrested in London following an altercation with Natasha. The singer publicly denied the claims, explaining that he missed a scheduled UK tour date on October 2, 2025, because of a medical emergency—not a domestic dispute.

He thanked fans for attending the show in his absence, promising to reschedule.

“First of all, I want to say to everyone that came out, I appreciate you,” he said. “We had a medical emergency, it was tough… we go regroup and make something beautiful happen.”

He also criticized those spreading unverified stories, urging people to fact-check before sharing information.

“If una no sabi something, make una no talk abeg. This ‘allegedly’, I don tire,” he reportedly stated.
