Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has denounced what he called a vicious media campaign against the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle.
In a post on his verified X account on Thursday, Fani-Kayode described the attacks—allegedly driven by opposition forces—as “shameless and nauseating.” He praised Matawalle for his loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and dedication to the fight against terrorism since taking office.
Highlighting Matawalle’s collaboration with National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Fani-Kayode said the duo had achieved remarkable success in counter-terrorism efforts.
“The combination of him and NSA Nuhu Ribadu has resulted in the killing of more terrorists in the last two years than in the previous eight put together,” he noted.
Fani-Kayode also criticized the government for failing to publicize these security achievements, calling for more transparency.
He urged Matawalle to stay focused and ignore attempts to undermine him, emphasizing that his courage and resilience have earned him respect.
“I urge my friend and brother, Matawalle, to continue the good work and disregard the distractions aimed at discrediting him,” he added.
