A young man who earlier alleged that Senator Ned Nwoko paid him to assassinate actress Regina Daniels has made a dramatic reversal, admitting that the claims were fabricated.
The individual, popularly known as “Liar of TikTok,” went viral after posting a video accusing Nwoko of sponsoring an attempt on his wife’s life — allegations that circulated widely amid reports of a marital crisis between the couple.
Ned Nwoko Issues Denial, Threatens Legal Action
Following the viral video, Nwoko issued a formal statement distancing himself from the accusations and announcing that he would pursue legal action to address what he described as a malicious and baseless claim.
Accuser Makes U-turn
In a new video, the TikTok personality recanted his statements, confessing that he fabricates sensational stories online for clout and insisting he never mentioned Nwoko directly.
He stated:
“Please Ned, Regina’s husband, I was not talking to you. My name is Liar of TikTok. That’s my name. I tell lies. I go online and tell lies. I was not referring to Ned Nwoko. I didn’t even call his name. I didn’t put his picture.”
Public Reaction
His retraction comes amid widespread outrage, with many Nigerians demanding accountability for the severe allegations he previously circulated. Critics argue that such false claims can endanger lives, damage reputations, and fuel misinformation.
The incident has renewed debate over the growing trend of content creators spreading unverified stories online for attention, as well as the legal risks associated with defamation.
