Adenike Oshimade, popularly known as DJ Nikky Jockey, has emerged as one of Nigeria’s most accomplished female disc jockeys, combining her love for music with a strong foundation in hospitality management.

From a young age, Adenike displayed ambition and a drive to excel. She began her educational journey at African Bethel Primary School in Ikorodu, Lagos, before attending Oriwu Junior College and completing her secondary education at Soyindo Grammar School. Initially fascinated by law, she eventually shifted her focus to hospitality, earning a degree in Hotel Management from Tai Solarin University of Education.

Hospitality career laid the groundwork

Upon graduation, Adenike gained valuable experience managing hotels across Lagos and Ogun States. Her professionalism, leadership, and operational expertise earned her recognition in the hospitality sector, where she honed skills that would later serve her in the entertainment industry.

A passion for music takes center stage

While thriving in hospitality, Adenike discovered her true calling in music and entertainment. Exposure to event management and live entertainment sparked a fascination with disc jockeying. She sought mentorship from Roland James, chairman of the Deejays Association of Nigeria (DJAN Lagos), and quickly became one of his most talented students.

Over a decade later, DJ Nikky Jockey has built a stellar reputation as a versatile and engaging DJ. She has performed at weddings, corporate events, private parties, and major social functions, captivating diverse audiences with her dynamic performances.

Taking Nigerian talent global

Adenike has expanded her reach beyond Nigeria, performing in Dubai, UAE, where her skill and charisma left a lasting impression. She now plans to take her talent further, aiming to break into the USA and European entertainment markets.

Reflecting on her journey, Adenike says:
