On Monday, December 1, 2025, Mrs. Oluremi Hamzat, wife of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, joined Nollywood stars including Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey and Omowunmi Dada for a special book reading session with students at State Senior High School and Ikeja Junior High School.

The event was part of the lead-up activities for the 2025 Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards and featured a reading of Tomi Falade’s book, “Olobun,” in partnership with Kiyesola Media, the book’s publisher.

Mrs. Hamzat, alongside the Nollywood stars, school principals, and the author herself, engaged students in a lively reading session that lasted three hours, leaving a lasting impression on both pupils and guests.

Expressing her gratitude, Mrs. Hamzat thanked Seun Oloketuyi, founder of BON Awards, for inviting her to take part in the initiative, describing the experience as both memorable and inspiring.

The annual BON book reading aims to promote literacy and inspire young Nigerians while celebrating the country’s vibrant indigenous film industry ahead of the awards ceremony.
