
The Leo Club public speaking contest, organized by the Lions Club of Akowonjo, District 404B3, celebrated leadership and its role in non-profit service organizations. The event honored the late Past District Governor Yinka Bolarinwa, who passed away 12 years ago.
Results
- 1st Place: Leo Adebisi Adesanya – 72 points, ₦100,000
- 2nd Place: Leo Samuel Adekunle – 69 points, ₦30,000
- 3rd Place: Leo Oluwakemi Lasisi – 56 points, ₦20,000
- Contestants placing 4th–6th (Adeyoke Onabolu, Olatunde Ibileru, Raheem Olatunde) received appearance cash gifts.
Event Highlights
- District Governor Lion Adelaja Adeleye praised PDG Yinka Bolarinwa’s legacy of humility, courage, and dedication to service.
- Mrs. Funmilayo Bolarinwa, widow of the late PDG, expressed her commitment to supporting the program annually, calling it a fitting tribute to her husband.
- Branded clocks were presented to Mrs. Bolarinwa and Yinka Bolarinwa’s younger brother, Ayo Bolarinwa, as gifts.
The contest underscored the importance of leadership in empowering young people within non-profit organizations.
