The 11th edition of the annual Alake Golf Tournament, sponsored by Oando Plc, concluded in thrilling fashion at the Abeokuta Golf Club over the weekend, with Dayo Folarin emerging as the overall champion. Folarin shot an impressive 68-net, outpacing more than 130 participants in the fiercely contested event.

Category Winners:

• 0-5 Handicap: Seye Ijaola – 73
• Pro Category: Mubasiru Sanusi – 72 gross, edging out Kabiru Adisa by three shots. Ilorin-based Kadiri Aminu finished third after losing to Adisa on countback with 75 gross.
• Ladies’ Category: Adenike Saliu – 69 net; runner-up Ronke Folami – 71 net
• Veteran Category: J.B. Mohammed – narrowly defeated Tajudeen Oladipo by one shot
• Super Veteran Category: Tajudeen Saka

Special Awards:

• Longest Drive: Nnamdi Emehelu (Men), Dorcas Malle (Ladies)
• Nearest to the Pin: A.S. Martins (Men), Adenike Saliu (Ladies)

The tournament is held annually to honor HRM Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, the Alake of Egbaland, celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Egbaland, and foster camaraderie among golfers and participants from across Nigeria.
