Imo Govt Seals Hotel, Mortuary Linked to Wanted Kidnap Kingpin

The Imo State Government, in collaboration with security agencies, has sealed a hotel and a private mortuary allegedly used by a wanted kidnapping suspect, Stanley Morocco Oparaugo, following disturbing discoveries during an operation in Umuhu, Ngor-Okpala. Oparaugo remains at large.

A joint team, led by CP Aboki Danjuma, included the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Chioma Egu, the Chief Pathologist, Dr. Ibeaja Okechukwu, and local officials. During inspections, authorities found decomposed and improperly preserved bodies at the mortuary, raising suspicions of illegal organ-related activities.

Both facilities were immediately closed and sealed, while forensic experts documented evidence. DSP Okoye Henry confirmed the operation is part of intensified efforts to curb violent criminal gangs terrorizing motorists along the Owerri–Aba Expressway.

The police urged the public to report any information about Oparaugo, emphasizing that maximum security has been deployed along the highway to protect travelers.
