Music executive Don Jazzy has issued a stern warning to an X (formerly Twitter) user impersonating him to promote a fake online giveaway.
The impersonator had used Don Jazzy’s name and photo to post a misleading message, prompting unsuspecting followers to believe the supposed giveaway was coming from the Mavin Records boss.
Reacting from his verified account, Don Jazzy cautioned the individual to desist from using his identity, stressing that such behaviour is suspicious and could attract legal consequences.
“Good evening sir/ma. Don’t you see how using my name and image on this account looks dodgy? You can do your giveaways with your own name and pic if you really want to help people. Don’t say they are bullying you if you get arrested. I come in peace,” he wrote.
This comes amid increasing concerns over impersonation and online scams targeting celebrities and their fans.
