T2 has announced a strategic collaboration with Carnival Calabar, serving as the festival’s official Digital Technology Partner. The partnership coincides with the debut of T2’s new customer-centric mobile app, MyT2, which will act as the official digital companion for the event.
Obafemi Banigbe, CEO of T2, described MyT2 as a milestone in the company’s shift toward deeper customer-focused innovation, reflecting evolving Nigerian lifestyles.
“People want more than basic connectivity; they want technology that simplifies daily life, strengthens relationships, and supports work and leisure. MyT2 brings all of this together in a single, intuitive space,” Banigbe said.
At Carnival Calabar, the app introduces Festive Mode, enabling attendees to access real-time schedules, ticket information, curated experiences, and vendor listings. For the first time, festival-goers will benefit from a unified digital guide, improving navigation and engagement both on-site and remotely.
Beyond the festival, MyT2 offers a comprehensive suite of services, including buying, borrowing, or sharing airtime and data; managing communication and spending; creating or joining T2 Hives for families, student groups, and teams; and accessing the integrated 9SB Wallet for secure payments and money transfers. Users can also reserve personalized phone numbers, book SIM registration or swap appointments, and manage communication preferences through an enhanced Do Not Disturb (DND) feature.
Banigbe emphasized that the partnership reflects T2’s broader mission to enhance cultural expression and community engagement through technology.
“By serving as Carnival Calabar’s digital technology partner, we aim to provide a seamless, accessible, and engaging experience for millions of Nigerians and global followers,” he said.
The launch of MyT2 at Carnival Calabar marks a key milestone in T2’s transformation from 9mobile, with further lifestyle-driven innovations planned as the company expands its digital-first strategy.
