Prince Kassim Afegbua, Edo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, has dismissed claims that he is unwell.
Speaking in a video, Afegbua said he has been actively working in his office and described the rumours as false. The claims originated from UK-based social media influencer Albert Obazee, who alleged that Afegbua had been hospitalized.
“This video is to show that one noise maker who feeds off social media is a liar. I am in my office, and I am doing well,” Afegbua said. He added that any ill wishes directed at him would “bounce back” on the originator of the rumours.
Afegbua also addressed concerns about the Radisson Blu Hotel purchase in Edo State. He clarified that N25 billion, sourced from the stock market, was used for the acquisition, countering former Governor Godwin Obaseki’s claim of a N2 billion expenditure. He noted that the N25 billion remains state debt, with Okpebholo paying N385 million monthly from internally generated revenue (IGR) as part of an irrevocable payment order.
