The wife of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Titilola Adeleke, has drawn attention online after sending a public and cordial message to Senator Oluremi “Remi” Tinubu following a viral incident involving her husband.
The incident occurred during the 10th coronation anniversary of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, where Remi Tinubu was installed as the Yeye-Asiwaju of Ile Oodua.
Videos shared widely on social media showed a brief confrontation between Governor Adeleke and the First Lady, who reportedly interjected as Adeleke began singing during his speech. She is heard saying:
“I’ll give you five minutes to finish your speech. The music is enough.”
When the governor continued, she reportedly threatened to switch off the microphone. The clip quickly went viral, sparking widespread reactions online.
Titi Adeleke’s Social Media Response
Despite the momentary clash, Titi Adeleke took to social media hours later to congratulate Senator Tinubu on her new title. She referred to Remi Tinubu respectfully as “Mummy” and wrote:
“I profoundly rejoice with the Mother of the Nation, Distinguished Senator (Dr) Oluremi Tinubu (CON), on her historic installation as the Yeye Oodua of Yoruba Land. This is another testament to your exemplary impact, virtues, and excellent dedication to serving humanity, uplifting lives, and communities across our country. Congratulations, Mummy!”
Praise for the Ooni of Ife
In the same post, Titi Adeleke commended the Ooni of Ife for his leadership, saying:
“To our revered Monarch, His Imperial Majesty, Kabiyesi Ooni of Ife, your reign on the throne has brought monumental developments to Ife, Osun State, and Nigeria, especially the Yoruba race. I pray long may you reign, Kabiyesi. We pray the years ahead bring more successes. Happy 10th coronation anniversary. Long live Kabiyesi Ooni of Ife.”
The incident, which initially captured attention for its humorous tension, was ultimately followed by a message of respect and goodwill, demonstrating the decorum and civility of political and social engagements in public events.
