The 2024 list highlights 121 brands and 10 CMOs that inspire loyalty and meaningful engagement with consumers, influencing new adopters. Flutterwave’s collaboration with music streaming platform Audiomack is acknowledged for strengthening the bond between creators and their audiences. The list celebrates a diverse range of organizations, including large international firms, emerging companies, and nonprofits. Flutterwave’s inclusion emphasizes its mission to connect Africa to the world through payments with messaging that resonates globally.
Yewande Akomolafe-Kalu, Associate Vice President of Branding and Storytelling at Flutterwave, stated: “Whether on stage, online, or offline, Flutterwave remains committed to excellence. We look forward to building on this momentum in 2025 to ensure our message authentically resonates with our global audience and creates tangible value for our community.”
She continued, “Our marketing team works with quiet determination, stepping into the spotlight strategically. Being recognized by Fast Company validates our behind-the-scenes efforts and reflects our strategic impact in driving Flutterwave’s growth as a global leader in the tech ecosystem.”
Fast Company editor-in-chief Brendan Vaughan commented, “This year’s honorees, from brands like Arc’teryx to Tony’s Chocolonely and the NFL, stand out for their creativity and commitment to building cultural relevance and connections with their audiences.”
The award highlights Flutterwave’s innovative marketing efforts, such as the Send App’s Summer Campaign, which used the adventures of globetrotting friends to inspire travel and offered perks like free eSIM cards and travel brochures. The company also shared valuable insights on remittance patterns during the International Day of Family Remittances, further reinforcing its role in facilitating seamless cross-border transfers for Africans in the diaspora.
Flutterwave has had a remarkable year, earning multiple accolades including being named Fast Company’s 2024 “Most Innovative Company” for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and “FinTech of the Year” at the African Banker Awards in Nairobi. It also climbed seven spots on CNBC’s 12th annual Disruptor 50 list and was ranked among the Top 100 Cross-Border Payment Companies by FXC Intelligence, underscoring its leadership in the payments ecosystem.
