Nollywood veteran Rita Edochie has voiced her frustration over the persistent death rumors surrounding her colleague, Osita Iheme, widely known as Pawpaw.

Edochie shared that she had recently encountered two separate rumors about Pawpaw’s death. To her shock, many fans believed the false claims and began mourning in the comments.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Edochie expressed her concern over the growing number of death rumors targeting actors. She revealed that a similar false report had been spread about her, with a photo of her on a movie set being misused to fuel the lie.

She wrote, “This rumor has surfaced before, and just a few days ago, it resurfaced for the second time. Pictures of my dear son and fellow veteran Osita Iheme, aka Pawpaw, went viral on social media with captions claiming he was dead. Sadly, many netizens fell for the hoax and started posting RIP messages.

“I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: social media has done more harm than good to society. While it has provided financial opportunities for many Nigerian youths, its abuse is spiraling out of control.”
