Hospitality and short-stay platform Bulvds made a notable appearance at this year’s African Startup Festival (ASF), using the event to combine digital innovation with face-to-face engagement.
Known for its curated apartments in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, Bulvds showcased its “home away from home” approach while connecting directly with users to understand their needs and experiences.
CEO Simeon Mba explained that ASF exposed Bulvds to a new audience—people more interested in practical, everyday solutions than technical details.
“The most common question from attendees was simply, ‘How does this work to make my life easier?’ Watching curiosity turn into understanding was incredibly rewarding,” Mba said. “It reminded us that the heart of Bulvds is helping people find comfort, clarity, and a sense of home away from home.”
He noted that the positive reception validated the company’s work and offered fresh insights into how first-time users perceive its value. In a market where accommodation options are often unreliable, such events allow digital platforms to humanize their offerings, showing tangible benefits beyond screens and apps.
Bulvds views this festival appearance not as a one-off event but as the start of a larger strategy to deepen physical engagement with users.
“This is the first of many moments where we step out from behind the product and stand right in front of the people we’re building for,” Mba said.
As the holiday season approaches, Bulvds is positioning itself as a reliable and comfortable alternative to traditional booking processes. Mba extended a direct message to prospective users:
“You’re stepping into a platform created to make your living experiences easier, smoother, and more intentional.”
