The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has formally petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) concerning concerns affecting certain reform institutions under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, NANS Public Relations Officer Comrade Samson Adeyemi said the petition aims to support public confidence, national stability, and the integrity of institutions. He explained that the association is urging the DSS to review relevant matters to ensure civic activities and public discourse remain peaceful and orderly.
Adeyemi highlighted that NANS fully supports the constitutional right to peaceful protest while advocating for proactive measures to maintain law and order. The association emphasized that its actions reflect a commitment to democracy, constructive civic engagement, and the stability of the country.
Expressing confidence in the DSS’s professionalism, Adeyemi reassured that Nigerian students and youths are dedicated to promoting peace and democratic governance, and that the petition is intended to safeguard the nation’s institutions and future.
