Occupied West Bank – December 25, 2025 – An eight-month-old Palestinian infant was among several civilians wounded in a series of attacks across the occupied West Bank, according to local reports and Palestinian authorities. The incidents involved Israeli settlers and soldiers, highlighting the ongoing tensions in the region.
Settler Attack in Sair, Hebron
Five Israeli settlers were arrested after allegedly throwing stones at Palestinian homes in the town of Sair, north of Hebron. The attack left an eight-month-old baby with moderate injuries to the face and head, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa.
Authorities said the settlers, described as “armed,” targeted residential buildings and property, prompting swift police action.
Israeli settlements and outposts are Jewish-only communities established on Palestinian land, which are deemed illegal under international law. These communities vary in size from single dwellings to multi-story buildings. Approximately 700,000 settlers live in the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem, according to Israeli advocacy group Peace Now.
Additional Clashes Across the West Bank
Elsewhere, Israeli forces conducted raids in the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus. During the operation:
- A 17-year-old Palestinian boy was shot.
- Dozens of residents suffered tear gas inhalation.
- Soldiers fired live bullets and tear gas canisters across neighborhoods.
In the Masafer Yatta area, south of Hebron, three Palestinians were detained following settler attacks, while homes and tents were raided, searched, and vandalized by Israeli forces.
Another incident in Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah, involved armed settlers attacking homes near the village entrance, wounding a young Palestinian man.
Context of Escalating Tensions
The West Bank continues to experience frequent clashes between settlers, Palestinian civilians, and Israeli security forces. Human rights groups have criticized the expansion of settlements and the disproportionate use of force during raids. These incidents often result in injuries, property damage, and arrests, exacerbating the humanitarian situation in occupied territories.
Local authorities and Palestinian residents have called for international attention to protect civilians, particularly children, from escalating violence.
Looking Ahead
As tensions persist, the region remains volatile, with settlements and military raids contributing to repeated confrontations. The protection of Palestinian communities in the West Bank, including minors, is increasingly urgent amid reports of injuries, arrests, and property destruction.
