Fubara’s Allies Reunite, Pledge Support for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election

Political associates of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara have reaffirmed their allegiance to him and committed to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Speaking at the New Year banquet organized by the Rivers State Government at the Government House, Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara welcomed prominent former PDP leaders who have now pledged support for the APC-led administration. These figures include former PDP National Chairman Uche Secondus, former House Deputy Speaker Austin Opara, ex-Rivers Governor Celestine Omehia, and former Minister of Transportation Abiye Sekibo.

Fubara emphasized that their return to his camp dispels allegations that he is aligning with groups opposed to the President. He reassured the public that his administration remains focused on governance, guided by faith and strategic planning, rather than political noise or blackmail.

“We understand the political terrain and have mechanisms in place to achieve our administration’s objectives. Those who misinterpret unfolding events may bark, but we remain steadfast in our course,” Fubara stated.

The governor described 2026 as a year of “complete liberation” for Rivers State, promising that the administration will achieve its set goals and ensure that supporters can take pride in their decisions. He reflected on the challenges of 2025, noting that the lessons learned have strengthened his resolve.

Fubara assured that his government would continue to act with integrity, stating that no one would be compelled to act against their conscience, and expressed confidence that all necessary hurdles will be overcome in due time.

“Those who place their trust in God can never be put to shame. The purpose of governance in Rivers State will be fulfilled, and history will remember the resilience of this administration,” he concluded.
