
Mrs. Regina Akume, wife of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and lawmaker representing Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency, has publicly reaffirmed her commitment to her husband, Senator George Akume. Speaking at a New Year Mass, she declared that despite public speculation, her marriage remains strong and her loyalty unwavering.
In a viral video from the Mass, Mrs. Akume addressed congregants with emotion and firmness:
“I want to tell the world that I still love Mr. George. He is my husband. That is his son sitting there, and that is also his daughter. I have no other husband but him. I do not care what the world says.”
Her statement drew applause from worshippers, reinforcing her message of family unity.
Mrs. Akume also spoke about her recent health challenges, describing them as a testing time for her faith and resilience. She credited divine intervention for her recovery:
“I thank God for granting me healing and making me healthy again.”
She reaffirmed her Christian faith, emphasizing God’s supremacy:
“He is the Almighty Father. There is none like Him, and there is no power above His power.”
She also highlighted the significance of Christ’s sacrifice:
“There is no sacrifice anybody can offer that is above the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus on the cross.”
The SGF’s family has been the focus of public discussion recently, following reports that he may have taken another wife. Mrs. Akume’s declaration serves as a clear statement of her devotion and her continued role as his wife and mother to their children.
