
The 2025 Wale Olomu Memorial Awards (WOMA) concluded with a heartfelt radio finale on Saturday, December 20, 2025, broadcast live on TopRadio 90.9 FM. The event marked the final chapter in a series of media engagements by the WOMA 2025 Steering Committee, celebrating excellence in entertainment while honouring the enduring legacy of late journalist and talent advocate, Wale Olomu.
Anchored by media professional Femi Akintunde-Johnson (FAJ), the finale featured deeply personal reflections on Olomu’s life, values, and lasting impact on Nigeria’s entertainment ecosystem.
In an emotional tribute, Adebisi Taibat Yusuf, Olomu’s fiancée, described him as “more than a life partner – my brother, my friend,” highlighting his passion for the entertainment industry and his vision for its future. She reflected on her journey of healing abroad, affirming that his memory remains forever in her heart.
Adding a family perspective, Dr. Dayo Olomu, Wale’s younger brother, expressed gratitude to the WOMA platform for sustaining his brother’s legacy. He reaffirmed that Wale stood firmly for discovering and promoting emerging talent, a mission that continues to define the awards.
The broadcast also featured acceptance remarks from recipients of the 2025 Special Recognition Awards. Sam Uquah, Mercy Adishi, Efe Omorogbe, and Seyi Allen shared gratitude and reflected on the significance of the honours in preserving Olomu’s ethos of encouragement and excellence.
Two Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to veteran Afro-fusion superstars Blackman Akeeb Kareem (79) and Emma Ogosi (83), celebrating decades of commitment to sustaining indigenous Nigerian music.
