Nigeria Expresses Condolences to Switzerland Over New Year Fire Tragedy

The Nigerian government has extended its condolences to Switzerland following a tragic fire at a ski resort that claimed dozens of lives and left several others injured.

The incident occurred in the early hours of New Year’s Day at Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana, a renowned Swiss resort.

In a statement, Kimiebi Ebienfa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, conveyed Nigeria’s heartfelt sympathies.

The statement read: “The Federal Government of Nigeria has received with profound sadness the news of the tragic fire incident at a ski resort in Switzerland. On behalf of the Government and people of Nigeria, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, conveys heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Switzerland and extends sincere sympathies to the families of the victims. We also wish those injured a speedy and full recovery.”

The Nigerian government affirmed that the thoughts and prayers of its people are with Switzerland during this period of mourning.
