New Delhi: Actor Sara Arjun, who made her Bollywood debut with the spy thriller Dhurandhar, took to social media on Sunday to share a heartfelt note thanking audiences for their overwhelming response to the film. Released on December 5 and directed by Aditya Dhar of Uri: The Surgical Strike fame, the film has already surpassed ₹1000 crore at the worldwide box office, cementing its status as one of the biggest blockbusters of 2025.

Gratitude to the Audience

In her Instagram post, Sara addressed the audience directly, acknowledging their crucial role in the film’s success. “My strongest Dhurandhars — the audience,” she wrote. She referred to the long-standing narrative that modern audiences have shorter attention spans and are less receptive to long-form storytelling. Dhurandhar, however, has proved otherwise. “For a long time, there has been a narrative that audiences no longer have the patience for long-form storytelling, that attention spans have shortened, that cinema no longer finds its place. But you proved otherwise. You reminded everyone of the true strength of an audience and what happens when people come together to support something they genuinely believe in,” she added.

The Journey and the Connection

Sara reflected on the journey of the film and how the audience’s engagement made all the difference. “The journey of Dhurandhar has been what it is because of you. Every bit of love, every moment you showed up, carried this film forward and I cannot thank you enough,” she wrote. She emphasized that while actors and filmmakers can control every aspect of production, they cannot control the audience’s response—a reality she described as “beautiful.”

She continued, “We give our everything and trust that someone, somewhere, will connect. When that connection happens, it is one of the most fulfilling feelings in the world… None of your love has gone unnoticed or unfelt. The warmth, encouragement, and kindness that have come my way have left me overwhelmed with gratitude.”

At just 20 years old, Sara Arjun expressed how significant this response is at the start of her career. “I am only just beginning, and to receive this kind of encouragement so early for a film I am a part of and for the work I’m trying to do means more to me than I can put into words.
