Ex-CIG Motors Executive Refutes Dismissal Claims, Clarifies Resignation

Former senior executive of CIG Motors, Jubril Arogundade, has publicly denied claims that he was dismissed from the company, offering a detailed clarification about his voluntary resignation.

In a statement released yesterday, Arogundade strongly refuted the reports suggesting that he was terminated from his role, stating that his exit was in accordance with his contractual obligations and the company’s internal processes. He confirmed that he resigned on December 2, 2025, with a formal notice and a clear exit timeline that was duly acknowledged by CIG Motors’ management.

Arogundade emphasized that his departure was not a result of any disciplinary action or termination. He further clarified that media reports portraying his exit as a dismissal were both incorrect and misleading.

Clarification of Events

“I resigned from CIG Motors after careful consideration and in line with due process,” Arogundade explained. “Any attempt to suggest that my exit was a termination is misleading and unfortunate. I am committed to transparency, and safeguarding my personal and professional integrity.”

He rejected allegations of wrongdoing, welcoming any legal review of his time with the company and his conduct. Arogundade expressed that his decision to leave was driven by internal considerations and a commitment to professional and governance standards. He also made it clear that his resignation was not prompted by any conflict or misconduct.

Arogundade’s Legacy at CIG Motors

During his tenure at CIG Motors, Arogundade was instrumental in advancing the company’s local operations and was an advocate for talent development within the organization. The company’s achievements under his leadership included receiving multiple prestigious awards such as the Most Innovative Automotive Brand of the Year (Brandcom 2024), 2023 Auto Company of the Year (Champions Award 2024), and Fastest Growing Automobile Company of the Year (Brandcom 2022), among others.

Arogundade, whose professional reputation has been a cornerstone of his career, emphasized the importance of truth and integrity in public matters. He urged media outlets to report fairly and factually when discussing such sensitive issues, noting that reputations take years to build but can be damaged in an instant.

“I trust that the truth will remain the foundation upon which this matter is ultimately understood,” he added.
