Thomas Frank: Tottenham “Completely Aligned” Amid Pressure Over Poor Form

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank insists the club is fully united about its future despite growing pressure from fans over inconsistent results in the Premier League.

Frank spoke confidently about his relationship with the club’s hierarchy following Spurs’ 1-1 draw with Sunderland, which left the north London side struggling in mid-table. Tottenham have won only two of their last 11 league games and remain winless in midweek fixtures this season.

“I think the biggest thing is that we are completely aligned with the ownership,” Frank said.
“Vinai [Venkatesham] is one of the best communicators I ever met. He’s calm, takes sensible decisions, and understands the journey we’re on. That’s crucial internally and externally.”

Spurs United Behind the Scenes

Frank praised CEO Vinai Venkatesham for his leadership and decision-making, highlighting the importance of clarity and communication at a time when pressure on managers is intense.

“Vinai is absolutely excellent in his role. He’s calm, makes sensible decisions — two rare abilities in football,” Frank added.
“I’m OK, but he is way superior, which is crucial for the club both internally and externally.”

Despite fan frustration and recent departures of other Premier League coaches — Enzo Maresca at Chelsea and Ruben Amorim at Manchester United — Frank stressed that he has no conflicts with Tottenham’s leadership.

On-Field Struggles and Upcoming Fixtures

Tottenham, currently 13th in the Premier League, are unbeaten in their last three games, but have not scored from open play since 6 December. Frank’s side will aim to improve their record with a midweek trip to Bournemouth.

Sporting director Fabio Paratici, who has been linked with a move to Fiorentina in recent weeks, remains committed to Spurs, according to Frank.

“We’re paying his wage, he’s working very hard. The last time I spoke to him? I spoke to him in the morning before the Sunderland game.”

Frank’s message is clear: Tottenham are aligned on their goals, both on and off the pitch, even as results remain inconsistent.
