Phyna, the former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality show winner, has publicly expressed her willingness to reconcile with Nigerian music star, Davido, more than two years after their online feud.

The controversy between them began in October 2023 when Davido liked a post on X (formerly Twitter) that referred to Phyna’s fans as “useless.” Phyna, visibly upset by the gesture, responded by questioning if she had done something to provoke the singer’s disdain, especially after he had recently welcomed twins with his wife, Chioma.

In a follow-up, Davido claimed he didn’t know who Phyna was, leading her to reply, “God knows me,” before unfollowing the artist on Instagram.

However, in a recent livestream, Phyna opened up about her readiness to bury the hatchet, saying, “I would like to stream with Davido.” She acknowledged the power imbalance, admitting, “Yes, he’s more successful than me. He’s the bigger one, and I respect that.” But she also emphasized her desire for a public apology to Davido, under the condition that they first clarify the root cause of their fallout.

She added, “If I have the opportunity to stream with Davido, I will take it. But before I apologize, I need to understand where the quarrel really started. Like, Baba Ibeji needs to tell me if it was a mistake that he liked that comment. Then, he can explain his side of the story because, from my perspective, I didn’t know him, and maybe we misunderstood each other.”

Phyna’s statement hints at a willingness to move past the issue, but also calls for transparency and understanding before any reconciliation can occur.
