Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has called on the indigenes of Osun residing in Ondo State to lend their support to Agboola Ajayi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, in the upcoming gubernatorial election on November 16.
This appeal comes at a time when Osun indigenes in Ondo have already expressed their support for Agboola Ajayi’s candidacy. Governor Adeleke made this call on Tuesday while visiting Ondo State to participate in a campaign tour alongside the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Agboola Ajayi. The tour included visits to several local government areas in Ondo, where Adeleke addressed the indigenes.
During the campaign stop in Akure, the state capital of Ondo, Governor Adeleke was warmly received by Osun indigenes who hosted him. In his address to the crowd, he emphasized the importance of ensuring that the PDP emerged victorious in the upcoming election, urging Osun indigenes to not only vote for the party but also stay with their votes to ensure the success of the PDP’s campaign.
Governor Adeleke highlighted the achievements of his administration in Osun, noting, “In just two years, we’ve accomplished what others failed to do in twelve years. The election is here, and I ask you to tell them that we are behind your ‘governor,’ Agboola Ajayi.” He further assured the crowd that Agboola Ajayi, with his grassroots experience, would bring similar progress to Ondo State as was seen in Osun. “We’ve brought the light to Osun, and by trusting in God, anything is possible,” he said.
He added, “Let’s spread the message that Agboola Ajayi is the next governor of Ondo State. I’m here to support my brother, Agboola, because the systems in Osun are working, and we want to replicate that success in Ondo. The PDP is the only progressive party, and I urge you to vote and stay with your votes.”
Agboola Ajayi, the PDP candidate, expressed his gratitude to the people of Osun for their unwavering support. He reassured them that, if elected, he would work tirelessly to deliver the benefits of good governance to the people of Ondo State, ensuring that all residents would feel the positive impact of his leadership.
The Chairman of Osun State Indigenes in Ondo State, Kehinde Ayinla, also spoke at the event, emphasizing that their support for Agboola Ajayi was grounded in his deep understanding of the state’s challenges and the needs of its people. Ayinla assured Ajayi of a strong turnout of votes from Osun indigenes, who are spread across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State, reinforcing the community’s commitment to Ajayi’s success in the election.
