Full List of 57 Luxury Properties Worth ₦213 Billion Seized from Ex-AGF Malami in EFCC Money Laundering Case

The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the interim forfeiture of 57 properties linked to former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), and two of his sons, Abdulaziz and Abiru-Rahman Malami.

The order, granted by Justice Emeka Nwite on January 6, 2026, followed an ex-parte motion filed by EFCC counsel Ekele Iheanacho (SAN). The seized assets are valued at ₦213.2 billion and are suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activity. They include luxury homes, hotels, schools, factories, mosques, commercial plazas, and warehouses across Abuja, Kebbi, Kano, and Kaduna states.

Highlights of the seized properties include:

  • Luxury duplexes and terraces in Maitama and Asokoro, Abuja.
  • Multi-storey hotels, including Meethaq Hotels Ltd, Jabi and Zeennoor Hotel, Kano.
  • Educational institutions such as Rayhaan University and Rayhaan Model Academy in Kebbi.
  • Agro-allied facilities, factories, and staff quarters under Rayhaan Agro Allied.
  • Plazas, shops, and commercial complexes in Abuja and Birnin Kebbi.
  • Personal residences of Malami and his sons, with some valued at over ₦2.9 billion.

The interim forfeiture vests control of the assets in the Federal Government, pending final determination. The court also directed publication in a national daily to allow third parties to contest the forfeiture within 14 days.

This action forms part of ongoing EFCC investigations into alleged N8.7 billion money laundering during Malami’s tenure as AGF. Malami, his wife, and his sons face criminal charges for allegedly acquiring and concealing assets through unlawful financial transactions.
