Biodun Okeowo Calls Out Unsupportive Colleagues, Urges Unity in Nollywood

Nollywood actress Biodun Okeowo has criticized colleagues in the industry for being unsupportive and envious, particularly actors who appear in films but fail to help with promotions.

In an Instagram post, Okeowo described such behavior as “wicked,” stressing that genuine support costs nothing. She highlighted that she has often promoted movies she wasn’t featured in and encouraged others to see their peers’ success as inspiration rather than a threat.

“I want to address two categories of people in my industry. First, actors who feature in movies but make it difficult to support the producer during promotions. You are not God. All you are showing is how wicked and unsupportive you can be,” she said.

She also called out colleagues who are stingy with support, noting that envy and negativity should not overshadow collective growth in Nollywood.

Okeowo appreciated those who have offered genuine support, emphasizing unity and encouragement within the industry: “To the ones who show up when asked, and those who show up without being asked, God bless you. The sky is big enough for all of us to fly. Stop the hate.”
