“Don’t Be Fooled” – Ned Nwoko Responds After Regina Daniels Releases Drug Test Results

Senator Ned Nwoko has reacted to the recent drug test results shared by his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, warning the public against interpreting a single negative test as proof of long-term sobriety.

In a statement released by his communication team, the senator maintained that a temporary period of abstinence does not invalidate earlier medical findings that reportedly indicated substance use. He stressed that recovery is a continuous process that requires accountability, professional intervention, and sustained commitment—not social media announcements.

According to the statement, previous assessments were carried out by independent and reputable medical centres in both Nigeria and South Africa. The results, he said, were professionally documented and remain available for presentation in court, with the centres prepared to testify if subpoenaed.

The statement also addressed attempts to downplay the seriousness of MDMA, commonly known as Molly, noting that rebranding or casual references do not change its chemical composition, risks, or impact on mental stability and judgement.

Nwoko’s team further disclosed that long before the matter became public, the senator had explored several private options to support Regina Daniels’ wellbeing, including rehabilitation and structured therapy. However, these efforts reportedly did not yield lasting results.

It was also revealed that a court ruling had granted Senator Nwoko custody and dismissed claims of human rights abuse previously raised. The court reportedly ordered Regina Daniels to undergo supervised therapy, an instruction the senator said was handled discreetly to protect her privacy and preserve her relationship with her children.

The statement concluded by emphasising that genuine accountability must be rooted in credible, verifiable evidence and a willingness to engage in long-term professional care, rather than what it described as performative gestures.

“A single drug test taken at a convenient time does not outweigh documented, independent medical assessments,” the statement noted, adding that any test results may still be subject to court scrutiny, with the court empowered to appoint a neutral laboratory for verification.

The senator called for a calm, evidence-based approach, insisting that healing and accountability are private, ongoing processes—not matters for public drama.
