Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has resolved his recent dispute with football analyst Bi Bernard, following a tense exchange that drew widespread attention online.
The disagreement arose after Nigeria’s round-of-16 victory over Mozambique in the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations, when Osimhen was involved in a heated on-field moment with teammate Ademola Lookman. Bernard later criticized Osimhen’s reaction, calling it unnecessary, which reportedly led to Osimhen blocking him on Instagram.
In a new update shared on January 8, 2026, Bernard confirmed that both parties have reconciled. The resolution came after former Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi and comedian AY intervened, encouraging them to put the dispute behind them for the sake of unity during the ongoing tournament.
Bernard revealed that Osimhen unblocked and followed him back on Instagram, and the two had a calm discussion early in the morning to share their perspectives. “We’re cool now. Osimhen and I spoke this morning. Everything has been settled. Shoutout to Onazi and AY—they made this happen,” Bernard said.
The analyst also acknowledged that Osimhen has been under considerable pressure, which may have contributed to his earlier reaction, adding context to the incident that had sparked public debate.
