Nigeria has expressed readiness to strengthen economic partnerships with Spain, emphasizing the country as a strategic partner and gateway between Africa and Europe.
Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, leading Nigeria’s delegation, engaged with CEOE, Spain’s top business confederation, highlighting opportunities across energy and gas, agriculture, infrastructure, industrial development, technology, fintech, and BPO services.
Tuggar assured Spanish investors that Nigeria’s economy is stabilizing through structural reforms, diversification, and macroeconomic coordination. He encouraged long-term investments that promote technology transfer, value chain development, and joint ventures.
Nigeria also positioned itself as a gateway to Africa’s largest market and emphasized leveraging the AfCFTA to access over 1.3 billion consumers. Policies on legal labor mobility, ease of doing business, regulatory transparency, and investor protection were also highlighted.
The delegation invited CEOE to catalyze Spanish investment, urging firms to consider Nigeria as a production and service hub, not just an export destination.
