Patna: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday took a firm stance on illegal immigration in Bihar, asserting that every infiltrator would be detected, removed from voter lists, and deported to their countries. Speaking at multiple rallies across Khagaria, Munger, and Nalanda constituencies, Shah targeted opposition leaders, particularly Congress’s Rahul Gandhi and the INDIA bloc, accusing them of “protecting” illegal immigrants ahead of the state assembly elections.
Shah’s Warning on “Infiltrators”
Addressing the electorate, Shah said, “Our government will handpick and throw out every single infiltrator from India. They will be detected, removed from voter lists, and deported to their countries. Let Rahul Gandhi launch yatras to protect these infiltrators. It does not matter. He cannot protect infiltrators by taking out a ‘Ghuspetiya Bachao Yatra’.”
Shah’s comments come against the backdrop of the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, scheduled in two phases on November 6 and 11, with counting on November 14. He framed the elections as a choice between “jungle raj” and “vikas raj” in Bihar, warning that a victory for the RJD-led opposition would mark a return to lawlessness, while the NDA would continue the state’s development trajectory.
Targeting RJD and Rahul Gandhi
Shah did not hold back in criticizing the opposition, asserting that if the RJD came to power, Bihar would revert to the era of “jungle raj.” He alleged that Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family politics prioritized personal gain over state development. “This election will decide whether ‘jungle raj’ will return to Bihar or the state remains on the path of development. If the government of Lalu-Rabri is formed, only ‘jungle raj’ will come, and if the NDA comes to power, a developed Bihar will make its mark in the entire country,” he said.
He also ridiculed RJD leader and opposition chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav’s statements on law and order, saying, “I was listening to former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad’s son talking about loot, murder, and crime in Bihar. This is, ‘sau chuhe kha kar, billi haj ko chali.’” Shah blamed the previous RJD government for driving industries out of the state and leaving Bihar backward, contrasting it with the NDA’s claim of restoring law, order, and economic growth.
Highlighting NDA’s Governance
Shah emphasized that the current NDA government, under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, focused on development and governance, free from dynastic politics and Naxal influence. “Only PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar can care for the sons and daughters of Bihar,” he said, highlighting initiatives in infrastructure, education, irrigation, water supply, and timely medicine distribution.
The Union Minister also touted national security achievements under the Modi government, contrasting it with the previous UPA era. “Under the Modi government, we eliminated terrorists by entering their safe hideouts. PM Modi has made our country safe. During the UPA government, Pakistan attacked every day. Driven by the greed for vote bank, Sonia, Manmohan, and Lalu governments remained silent,” Shah said.
Poll Logistics and Strategy
Shah pointed out that the Bihar assembly elections are being conducted in two phases this year, crediting the NDA’s strong governance for improved election management. He suggested that future elections could be held in a single phase under efficient administration, implicitly urging voters to support the NDA.
Concluding his rallies, Shah urged citizens to vote strategically, framing the poll as a critical decision point for Bihar’s development and law-and-order scenario.
