Israeli military strikes across the Gaza Strip have killed at least 14 Palestinians, including five children, medical sources reported on Thursday. The attacks come despite an October ceasefire brokered by the United States, which has failed to halt the ongoing violence.
“We affirm that Israel does not respect any ceasefire agreements and relies on treachery and false security pretexts to carry out its plans of extermination and displacement,” said the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), condemning the strikes as war crimes.
Deadly Strikes Target Displaced Palestinians
One Israeli attack in the al-Mawasi area of southern Gaza targeted tents housing displaced families, killing at least four Palestinians. Additional strikes in Zeitoun, Bureij, and Nuseirat also claimed civilian lives, including 11-year-old Hamsa Housou in Jabalia, northern Gaza.
Hamsa’s uncle, Khamis Housou, described the devastating scene:
“I saw Hamsa lying on the floor, and blood coming out of her nose and mouth.”
Since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, 2025, the Palestinian Health Ministry reports that 425 Palestinians have been killed and 1,206 wounded in Israeli attacks.
Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza
Hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinian families continue to live in makeshift tent camps, struggling to survive amid winter storms and inadequate shelter. Flooding, extreme cold, and lack of basic supplies have worsened conditions.
Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has reported rising respiratory infections, wound complications, and skin diseases, particularly among children and the elderly. Babies in Gaza are reportedly suffering from severe cold while humanitarian aid remains blocked or delayed.
Israel Blocks Aid Organizations
Israel has revoked the licenses of 37 international aid groups, including MSF, Medecins du Monde Suisse, and the Norwegian Refugee Council, citing new requirements for staff and operational reporting. These restrictions prevent critical humanitarian services, including medical care, shelter, and supplies, from reaching Palestinians in Gaza.
Experts warn that Israel’s actions violate humanitarian principles and jeopardize the lives of thousands, especially during harsh winter conditions.
UN and International Response
The United Nations and humanitarian organizations have repeatedly warned Israel against blocking aid and targeting civilian infrastructure. Despite international appeals, Israel continues to restrict the flow of tents, blankets, and essential winter supplies into Gaza, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
The situation has left many Palestinians exposed to flooded encampments, disease, and inadequate nutrition, raising fears of a growing public health emergency.
