“I Don’t Wish It On My Enemy” – TG Omori Shares Struggle With Kidney Disease

Popular Nigerian music video director ThankGod Smith Omori, widely known as TG Omori, has opened up about his ongoing battle with kidney disease, describing it as an extremely challenging ordeal that no one should have to endure.

According to Omori, he has been grappling with the illness for several months, requiring frequent hospital visits as his condition fluctuates. In August 2024, he underwent a kidney transplant to improve his health, but the procedure was unsuccessful, leaving him to face ongoing treatments and hospital stays.

The Toll of Kidney Disease
Reflecting on his experience, Omori highlighted the severe physical and financial burden of kidney illness. “The pain can be overwhelming, and many people struggle or even lose their lives because they cannot afford proper care,” he said.

He further explained that managing such a condition often demands constant medical attention, with survival depending on costly treatments and pain management. “When facing a serious illness like this, money loses its usual significance. Nearly every resource is directed toward staying alive,” he added, noting that treatment costs can reach millions of naira.

Gratitude Amid Struggle
Despite the hardships, TG Omori expressed gratitude for his life and resilience, crediting the support of loved ones and divine grace for helping him persevere through the illness. He also stressed that he does not wish the experience on anyone, underscoring the severity of kidney disease and the challenges patients face.
