Chemical and Allied Products (CAP) Plc, a leading paints and coatings manufacturer in Nigeria, has successfully conducted its first NABTEB-certified assessments for trainees at the CAP Painters Academy. The initiative underscores the company’s commitment to boosting technical skills and fostering economic empowerment among young Nigerians.
In collaboration with the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), 31 trainees were evaluated in both theory and practical components of the Painting and Decoration module. The certification ensures that trainees receive nationally recognised credentials, bridging the gap between industry expertise and formal technical qualifications.
The CAP-NABTEB partnership, formalised in September 2025, aims to professionalise Nigeria’s decorative paints sector by combining CAP’s hands-on experience with NABTEB’s structured certification framework. The collaboration equips trainees with world-class painting techniques while enhancing employability, professional credibility, and entrepreneurial potential.
Bolarin Okunowo, Managing Director of CAP PLC, said, “This milestone marks an important evolution for the CAP Painters Academy. By integrating nationally recognised testing and certification, we are strengthening the pipeline of qualified painters and supporting young people with skills that open doors to real economic opportunities.”
