Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has described the ongoing political feud between Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike as spiritual in nature.
In an interview with Arise Television, Fayose recalled a prophetic warning he gave during Fubara’s inauguration in 2023, advising him against engaging in conflict with Wike. He said the rivalry could lead to “seeing spirits” if ignored.
“Going by the trend of ingratitude and betrayal of trust, I told Governor Fubara not to fight Wike. If he does, these problems will continue indefinitely,” Fayose said.
Fayose recounted attending both Wike’s farewell lunch and Fubara’s inauguration dinner, where he warned the new governor to be cautious about influences that could strain his relationship with Wike. He emphasized that youthful exuberance and forgetfulness could easily lead to political and spiritual troubles.
Despite earlier interventions by President Bola Tinubu, hostilities between Fubara and Wike reportedly persisted, with Wike warning that Fubara might not secure a second term ticket despite his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Fayose concluded that the political tension, which later intensified and impacted governance in Rivers State, had spiritual underpinnings, stemming from early warnings he gave to the governor.
