BREAKING: Three Family Members Remain in Captivity Over a Month After Kogi Kidnapping

Three residents of Taki community in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Kogi State—identified as Eniojukan Samuel, Eniojukan Bunmi, and Ekomitan Mary—remain in the hands of kidnappers more than a month after being abducted along the Ihale–Taki Road. All three victims belong to the same family, heightening concern across the community.

Sources say the abductors are demanding a ₦20 million ransom for their release. As of now, there has been no confirmation of any progress toward freeing the family members.

Residents of Taki and nearby areas have renewed calls for urgent security intervention, describing the Ihale–Taki axis as increasingly dangerous. The incident adds to a growing wave of kidnappings in Okunland, raising questions about the safety of rural communities and the effectiveness of local security responses.

In a related case, bandits reportedly collected ₦6 million from the family of kidnapped farmer Alabi Dada Babatege (Old Soldier) but have yet to release him. The kidnappers subsequently demanded an additional ₦14 million and two Bajaj motorcycles for his freedom. Dada Babatege was abducted on December 12, 2025, in broad daylight from his farm near St. Kizito’s College in Isanlu, Yagba East LGA, highlighting the persistent threat to rural residents.
