Lagos Transport Commissioner Tasks LBSL on Impactful 2026 Plan

The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, has urged Lagos Bus Services Limited (LBSL) to make its 2026 strategic plan more impactful for residents, focusing on service reliability, safety, and efficiency.

Osiyemi’s visit was aimed at reviewing LBSL’s strategic direction and ensuring its plans align with the state’s broader developmental goals, particularly addressing service delivery gaps affecting commuters. He emphasized that government support must translate into measurable improvements for the public.

The commissioner called on LBSL to close operational gaps through regular system and structural checks, stressing that consistency and operational discipline are essential to building public trust in the state-run bus system.

Managing Director of LBSL, Mr. Idowu Oguntona, briefed Osiyemi on the agency’s 2026 strategic focus, designed to enhance safety, reliability, and sustainability of bus services. Oguntona thanked the commissioner for the ministry’s guidance and assured that LBSL would continue to uphold its mandate of providing safe, affordable, and reliable transportation to Lagosians.

The visit is part of Osiyemi’s ongoing oversight engagements with agencies under the ministry. Last week, he conducted similar working visits to the Lagos State Waterways Authority, Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, Motor Vehicle Administration Agency, and Lagferry, reinforcing efforts to strengthen coordination and improve service delivery across the transport sector.
