Chalamet overcame stiff competition, including George Clooney (Jay Kelly), Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), Lee Byung-hun (No Other Choice), and Jesse Plemons (Bugonia).

During his acceptance speech, Chalamet thanked his parents, his costars, and his partner of three years, Kylie Jenner:

“For my parents, for my partner, I love you. Thank you so much. I couldn’t do this without you.”

Chalamet and Jenner shared a sweet public display of affection as his name was engraved on the Golden Globe trophy. At 46, Rose Byrne earned the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her role as Linda in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You. Byrne credited the film’s writer-director Mary Bronstein and producers Sara Murphy, Ryan Zacarias, Ronald Bronstein, and Josh Safdie for their support.

Byrne’s acceptance speech included a playful nod to her partner Bobby Cannavale, who was absent from the ceremony due to a “reptile expo in New Jersey”:

“I want to thank my husband, Bobby, who couldn’t be here because we’re getting a bearded dragon. So, thank you, baby.”
