AFCON 2025: Peller Cries Out After Losing $3,000 Bet on Super Eagles

Nigerian TikToker Peller has expressed deep disappointment after losing a $3,000 bet placed on Nigeria’s Super Eagles to win their AFCON 2025 semi-final match.

Peller had backed Nigeria to secure victory in the highly anticipated encounter, but his hopes were dashed after the Super Eagles were eliminated from the tournament following a goalless draw that ended in a penalty shootout defeat.

The match was eventually decided on penalties, with Nigeria losing 4–2, bringing an abrupt end to their impressive run at the competition.

In a video shared online, the social media personality revealed that he was unaware his bet would be affected once the match ended in a draw after 90 minutes. Visibly upset, Peller lamented the loss and admitted he had left the viewing centre in frustration while still hoping for a Super Eagles comeback.

The loss comes shortly after reports that the TikToker was involved in a Mercedes-Benz crash, further compounding what appears to be a difficult period for him.

Despite the semi-final exit, Nigeria had an impressive AFCON 2025 campaign. The Super Eagles topped Group C with a perfect record, winning all three group matches, including a 3–1 victory over Uganda, with goals from Paul Onuachu and Raphael Onyedika.

Nigeria also defeated Algeria 2–0 in the quarter-finals, courtesy of goals from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams, and scored a total of 14 goals across the tournament, making them one of the standout teams of the competition.

The video of Peller reacting to his betting loss has since gone viral, sparking mixed reactions from fans online.
