Nigerian Afrobeat star Seun Kuti has fired back at fans of Wizkid over claims that the latter has appropriated his nickname. Kuti asserts that he was the first to use the nickname “Big Bird.”

The dispute surfaced during a recent livestream when a fan suggested Kuti stop using the name, noting Wizkid’s own moniker, “Biggest Bird.” In response, Kuti firmly stated that the nickname has always belonged to him and that he has no intention of changing it.

He encouraged the fan to advise Wizkid to come up with a nickname that is truly original, emphasizing his desire to protect his identity and legacy in the Afrobeat scene.
