
Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has secured two nominations at the 2026 MOBO Awards, competing in the Best African Music Act and Best International Act categories. Last year, she made history as the first African woman to win both awards simultaneously, and she faces tough competition again this year.
The nominees, announced Thursday by the organisers, include artists from across Africa, Europe, North America, and the Caribbean, highlighting the global reach of contemporary music.
Other Nigerian stars on the list include Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Adekunle Gold, Rema, and Shallipopi, each earning a nomination in their respective categories.
The 2026 MOBO Awards, which also marks the organisation’s 30th anniversary, will be held on March 26, 2026, at Co-op Live in Manchester.
