Aminu Sule Lamido, son of former Jigawa Governor Sule Lamido, has lost his appeal at the Supreme Court challenging the forfeiture of $40,000 to the Federal Government. The five-member panel, led by Justice John Inyang Okoro, dismissed the case as lacking merit, affirming previous judgments by the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal.
Aminu had been convicted for failing to declare the full amount at Kano airport in 2024, having initially declared only the statutory $10,000. The EFCC prosecuted the case, with the apex court confirming that the forfeiture and conviction were lawful.
