New York Mayor Eric Adams meets with Trump as indictments approach.

New York Mayor Eric Adams has traveled to Florida to meet with President-elect Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago residence. The visit comes as Adams faces growing threats to his re-election chances and a potential federal indictment.

Adams, a Democrat, made no prior announcement about the trip but had previously pledged to cooperate with the incoming Trump administration, particularly on efforts to deport undocumented immigrants.

Fabien Levy, Adams’ spokesperson, emphasized that the mayor’s focus remains on the city’s interests.

“Mayor Adams has been clear about his willingness to collaborate with President-elect Trump and his incoming administration for the benefit of New Yorkers. A strong partnership with the federal government is essential for New York City’s success,” Levy stated.

“The mayor looks forward to a productive discussion with the incoming president on advancing both our city and country,” he added.

Adams’ perceived closeness to Trump has drawn criticism from many in the Democratic Party, including his rivals in the upcoming Democratic primary for New York mayor.
