Emir Sanusi Secures Law Admission at Northwest University, Kano

The Emir of Kano, Dr. Muhammadu Sanusi II, has been granted special admission into the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Common Law and Sharia programme at Northwest University, Kano.

The state-owned university, which offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across law, sciences, humanities, and social sciences, officially conveyed the approval in a letter dated January 12, 2026, signed by Jafaru Muhammad, Head of the Directorate of Examinations, Admissions, and Records.

According to the letter, posted on X by former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad, the Emir’s admission followed an application for special consideration, which was approved after he met the university’s requirements.

The admission places the Emir at Level 200 in the Faculty of Law, effective from the 2024/2025 academic session. The university emphasized that his enrollment is subject to compliance with all rules and regulations outlined in the Northwest University Student Handbook.
