Rap superstar Ludacris will no longer be performing at this summer’s Rock the Country music festival after fan backlash and a clarification from his team. The touring festival, which spans eight locations between May and September 2026, had initially announced Ludacris alongside fellow rapper Nelly and country heavyweights including Kid Rock, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, and Jelly Roll.
Ludacris Removed from Festival Lineup
Christopher Bridges, known professionally as Ludacris, 48, was originally listed on the Rock the Country lineup, sparking excitement among fans who were eager to see the “Money Maker” artist share the stage with major country acts. However, the rapper’s name has since been removed from the festival’s official website.
A representative for Ludacris told Rolling Stone that his initial inclusion in the lineup was “a mix-up” and confirmed that he was never officially scheduled to perform. Rock the Country organizers also confirmed the change, explaining that lines had been crossed during the planning process.
Fan Reactions and Social Media Backlash
The removal comes after fans expressed disappointment and concern over Ludacris’ initial appearance at a festival featuring several artists who have publicly aligned with conservative political views. Social media comments, particularly on Instagram, reflected frustration from longtime supporters.
One fan wrote, “Wtf better cancel that concert if you want to keep your fans. Don’t be on the wrong side of history. No paycheck is worth it.”
Another follower added, “At this point these rappers use their people to become known only to sell us out… not even disappointed anymore I just know everybody has a certain number that they will be anything for…”
Others expressed personal disappointment: “I’m so disappointed in you, Luda, you were my favorite and I thought I wouldn’t have to worry about you getting wrapped up in this type of nonsense.”
The backlash appears to have influenced the correction to the lineup, ensuring that Ludacris fans are not alienated by the festival’s other performers.

Despite the change, Rock the Country promises a star-studded tour for country music and rock fans alike. Alongside Kid Rock, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, and Jelly Roll, the festival will feature performances from:
