The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), Adolphus Wabara, has called on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to explain what wrong he committed that would justify being disowned.
Wabara’s remarks came in response to Wike’s statement during a media chat in Abuja, where the FCT Minister criticized Wabara’s leadership as PDP BoT Chairman and mentioned that he would have disowned Wabara if he were his father.
In his response, Wabara dismissed Wike’s comments as disgraceful and unbecoming of someone who claims to be a man of honor. In a statement he signed, Wabara described Wike’s words as “gibberish” and said they reflected a lack of maturity.
Wabara further stated: “I would expect someone of his standing to choose his words more carefully and ensure his facts are correct. However, I don’t want to engage in a debate with Wike or dignify his comments.”
He continued: “For a son to disown his father, there must be a grave wrongdoing. Can Wike explain to the world what it is that I’ve done to deserve such treatment?”
On the topic of corruption, Wabara asserted, “Nigerians know who is corrupt, and I can proudly say that I, Adolphus Wabara, am not corrupt! I will not engage with individuals who show no respect for elders.”
