IndiGo Delhi–Bagdogra Flight Diverted to Lucknow After Bomb Threat

Lucknow: An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Bagdogra made an emergency landing at Lucknow airport on Sunday morning following a bomb threat. Flight 6E-6650, carrying 237 passengers and crew, landed safely at 9:17 am after Air Traffic Control received an alert at 8:46 am.

Authorities said a handwritten note on a tissue paper found in the aircraft toilet claimed there was a bomb onboard. The aircraft was immediately parked in an isolation bay, and all passengers and crew were evacuated for security screeningBomb disposal squads, CISF personnel, police, fire, and medical teams were deployed, and a Bomb Threat Assessment Committee assessed the situation.

After a thorough search, no explosives were found. The aircraft, carrying radioactive medical material in approved packaging, was declared safe and departed for Bagdogra at around 4:40 pm.

IndiGo said it followed established protocols, informed authorities immediately, and is fully cooperating with the investigation. CCTV footage, passenger manifests, and onboard activity logs are being examined to trace the origin of the note. Authorities are treating the incident as a suspected hoax.
