Nollywood actress and producer Funke Akindele has responded to a critic who questioned her decision to wear a ring on her “marriage finger” despite being divorced.

The critic, identified as @OriretanHonour on X, suggested that it was unwise for Akindele to continue wearing the ring, arguing it could deter potential suitors. The user wrote: “Funke, it’s unwise to still wear a ring on your marriage finger knowing you’re divorced. Even worse, it might scare away your future husband. Little things count now that you’re still famous, hot, and rich. Mind your public acts. Remove the ring now. You need a man in your life ASAP. Act fast. Be wise.”

Akindele quickly dismissed the criticism, focusing on her financial goals. “I need money! That’s the koko,” she replied.

Funke Akindele has been married twice. Her first marriage was to Mr. Oloyede on May 26, 2012, but they divorced in July 2013 due to irreconcilable differences. Her second marriage to JJC Skillz ended in 2022 after they welcomed twins.

In a 2024 interview with Wazobia FM, Akindele reflected on her past marriages, emphasizing that being divorced twice does not define her as a failure.
